Holly Hinderlie, Ph.D.
Holly Hinderlie has been a licensed psychologist since 2000. She is currently the Upper School Psychologist at the Holton-Arms School. Prior to this role, Dr. Hinderlie was the Wellness Coordinator at Choate Rosemary Hall. For over a decade, Dr. Hinderlie served as Director of Counseling at Maret School in Washington, DC. where she was a founding member and co-chair of the Committee on Equity and Inclusion. Dr. Hinderlie’s passion for helping young people develop a healthy self-concept, thriving relationships, and a deeper understanding of diversity, equity and inclusion is the driving force behind her work with students and school communities.
During her twelve-year tenure at Maret School, Dr. Hinderlie spearheaded efforts to meet the mental health needs of students in grades K-12 and was instrumental in creating programs for students, parents, faculty, alumni and trustees that moved the dial in the area of equity and inclusion. Recognizing that the school’s model for professional development on the topic of equity and inclusion was not having the desired impact,
Dr. Hinderlie (along with her colleague Eliza Alexander) created a week-long, intensive professional development program entitled Deepening the Discussion About Race in 2012. Dr. Hinderlie served as a the lead facilitator of the program over the past six years.
